Infinix Note 40 5G Debuts with 512GB Storage and Wireless Charging

Infinix has expanded its Note 40 lineup with the launch of the new Note 40 5G, bringing some notable upgrades to the mid-range segment. The device stands out with its massive 512GB storage option and support for wireless charging - features rarely seen at this price point.

Key Specifications

  • 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED display (120Hz refresh rate, 1,300 nits peak brightness)
  • MediaTek Dimensity 7020 chipset
  • Up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage
  • 108MP main camera with OIS
  • 5,000mAh battery
  • 33W wired charging, 15W wireless charging
  • Android 14 with XOS 14

Storage and Performance

The standout feature is undoubtedly the 512GB storage option, which is uncommon in this price range. Paired with 12GB of RAM and the capable Dimensity 7020 chip, the Note 40 5G aims to deliver smooth performance for multitasking and storage-intensive users.

Charging Innovations

While the 33W wired charging is relatively standard, the inclusion of 15W wireless charging is a pleasant surprise at this price point. Infinix is also introducing its MagKit accessory system, allowing for magnetic wireless charging similar to Apple's MagSafe.

Pricing and Availability

The Infinix Note 40 5G has launched in the Philippines at PHP 13,999 (approximately $240 USD), with an early bird offer bringing it down to PHP 9,999 ($170 USD). Indian pricing is expected to be around INR 17,999.

The Verdict

The Infinix Note 40 5G makes a compelling case in the mid-range market with its generous storage, capable camera system, and wireless charging support. However, its position within Infinix's own lineup is somewhat confusing, as it's priced higher than some Pro models in certain regions.

While not revolutionary, the Note 40 5G demonstrates Infinix's efforts to differentiate itself in a crowded market by offering features typically reserved for more expensive devices.
