Campfire Audio, the renowned Portland-based audio company, has announced its latest high-end in-ear monitors (IEMs) - the Astrolith. This new offering aims to set a new standard in audio fidelity for serious music enthusiasts.
Cutting-Edge Technology
The Astrolith IEMs feature Campfire's innovative Additive Acoustic Optical Inclusion (AAOI) housing, which not only contributes to their striking aesthetics but also enhances acoustic performance. Each earpiece contains two custom planar magnetic drivers:
- A 14.2mm driver for sub-low, low, and midrange frequencies
- A 6mm driver serving as a tweeter for high frequencies
This dual-driver configuration operates without a traditional crossover, instead relying on precisely engineered internal chambers to control acoustic volumes.
The Astrolith IEMs feature a polished stainless-steel housing, embodying advanced technology and design |
Premium Build and Design
The Astrolith's shells are crafted from stainless steel, hand-polished to a mirror finish. The transparent exterior showcases the internal components, creating a gem-like appearance that's both sleek and visually intriguing.

Our Take
While we haven't had the opportunity to test the Astrolith IEMs yet, Campfire Audio's track record and the impressive specifications suggest these could be a formidable option for audiophiles. The use of dual planar magnetic drivers, coupled with the innovative AAOI housing, promises exceptional sound quality and minimal distortion.
However, the premium price point puts these firmly in the high-end category, making them a significant investment for even the most dedicated audio enthusiasts. As always, we recommend auditioning them if possible before making a purchase decision.
