Samsung W25: Galaxy Z Fold SE Debuts in China with Premium Gold Design and Ceramic Back

Samsung has expanded its premium foldable lineup by introducing the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition in China under a new identity - the Samsung W25, alongside its compact sibling, the W25 Flip. This launch marks a significant move in Samsung's strategy to cater to the luxury segment of the Chinese market with enhanced design elements and premium materials.

Premium Design Evolution

The Samsung W25 distinguishes itself with an elegant black and gold color scheme, featuring golden accents on the hinge, frame, and camera lenses. What sets this variant apart from its Korean counterpart is the addition of a ceramic back panel, which adds 19 grams to the device's weight, bringing it to 255 grams. While this might seem counterintuitive for a foldable device, the ceramic material adds a premium touch that appeals to luxury-focused consumers.

Enhanced Specifications

The W25 maintains the impressive specifications of the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy chipset. The device comes with a generous 16GB of RAM and offers storage options of 512GB and 1TB, surpassing the global variants. The camera system features a powerful 200MP main sensor, accompanied by a 12MP ultrawide and a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom capabilities.

W25 Flip Companion

Alongside the W25, Samsung has introduced the W25 Flip, essentially a redesigned version of the Galaxy Z Flip6. It shares the same core specifications, including the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, 12GB of RAM, and storage options of 256GB or 512GB. Both devices feature IP48 water and dust resistance ratings and support 25W charging, with the W25 housing a 4,400mAh battery and the W25 Flip containing a 4,000mAh unit.

Pricing and Availability

While official pricing hasn't been announced, the W25 is expected to start at ¥16,999 (approximately $2,400/€2,200), with the W25 Flip starting at ¥9,999 (approximately $1,400/€1,300). Both devices will be exclusively available in China, packaged in a Black Gold Premium Gift Box that includes a 25W charger and a faux leather case.
