Nvidia is making significant changes to its cloud gaming service, balancing enhanced features with new usage limitations. The transformation aims to maintain service quality without increasing subscription costs, marking a pivotal moment for cloud gaming accessibility.
Service Tier Rebranding and Enhancement
The former Priority tier is being rebranded as Performance, bringing substantial improvements to the streaming experience. This upgrade introduces QHD+ gaming capabilities, supporting 1440p resolution and ultrawide display formats. Additionally, subscribers can now save their graphics settings across streaming sessions, including RTX features in supported games, creating a more seamless gaming experience.

New Monthly Usage Limits
Starting January 1st, 2025, Nvidia will implement a 100-hour monthly playtime cap for new Performance and Ultimate tier subscribers. This translates to approximately three hours of daily gaming. Current subscribers will retain unlimited access until January 1st, 2026, after which the cap will apply universally. To accommodate heavy users, Nvidia offers additional playtime packages: $2.99 for 15 hours on Performance tier and $5.99 for Ultimate tier extensions.
Flexible Usage Management
The new system includes user-friendly features to manage gaming time effectively. Subscribers can carry over up to 15 unused hours to the following month automatically. Once reaching the monthly limit, users can either purchase additional time blocks or continue playing using Basic rigs for the remainder of the month.
New Game Additions
The service continues to expand its game library with recent additions including Planet Coaster 2, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate, and StarCraft II among others. These titles showcase the platform's commitment to offering diverse gaming experiences while supporting advanced features like DLSS 3 and ray tracing in compatible games.
Strategic Timing and Transition
Nvidia is offering a 25% discount on Ultimate and Performance day passes until November 22nd, 2023, allowing users to test the enhanced features. Users can upgrade to monthly or six-month subscriptions to secure unlimited playtime before the 2026 cap implementation, demonstrating Nvidia's effort to ease the transition for loyal customers.
