ASUS ROG Phone 9 Leaks Reveal €1,320 Price Tag and Premium Gaming Specs

As the gaming smartphone market continues to evolve, ASUS is preparing to unveil its latest flagship gaming device, the ROG Phone 9 series. With the official launch scheduled for November 19, 2024, recent leaks and certifications have provided substantial insights into what could be one of the most powerful gaming phones of the year.

Price and Availability

The ROG Phone 9's European pricing has been revealed through a Danish retailer listing, indicating a significant price point of DKK 9,838 (approximately €1,320) for the 12GB RAM and 512GB storage variant in Storm White. This suggests a potential price increase from its predecessor, the ROG Phone 8, which launched at €1,099 in Europe earlier this year.

Performance Specifications

At the heart of the ROG Phone 9 lies Qualcomm's cutting-edge Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. This new chipset promises remarkable improvements with a 45% boost in both single and multi-core performance, alongside a 30% enhancement in GPU capabilities. The device is expected to offer configurations of up to 24GB of RAM, setting a new standard for mobile gaming performance.

Display Technology

The gaming experience is further enhanced by a 6.78-inch Samsung LTPO AMOLED display, featuring FHD+ resolution. The screen's adaptive refresh rate ranges from 1Hz to 120Hz, with an impressive Game Genie mode capable of reaching 185Hz. With a peak brightness of 2,500 nits, visibility should be excellent even in bright outdoor conditions.

Camera System

ASUS has equipped the ROG Phone 9 with a versatile camera setup, featuring a 50MP Sony Lyt-700 main sensor, accompanied by a 13MP ultra-wide lens and a 5MP macro camera. The Pro variant is expected to upgrade the macro lens to a 32MP telephoto sensor, while both versions will include a 32MP front-facing camera for high-quality selfies and streaming.

Additional Features

The device introduces wireless charging capabilities, with certification documents revealing 15W wireless charging support. This adds to the expected 65W wired charging for its substantial battery. Design-wise, ASUS has refreshed the aesthetic with a new light-up ROG text logo, replacing the traditional RGB ROG logo of previous generations.
