Honor X60 GT Debuts with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and Massive 6,300mAh Battery

Honor continues its aggressive expansion in the Chinese smartphone market with a new addition to its GT lineup. Positioned between the recently launched Honor Power with its 8,000mAh battery and the upcoming flagship Honor GT Pro, the X60 GT offers premium features at a more accessible price point, targeting performance-oriented users who don't want to compromise on battery life.

Impressive Display Technology

The Honor X60 GT features a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2664 x 1200 pixels. The screen supports a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, 10-bit color depth, and DCI-P3 wide color gamut coverage. What stands out is the impressive peak brightness of 5,000 nits, making it one of the brightest displays in the smartphone market today. The display also incorporates 3840Hz PWM dimming technology to reduce eye strain during low-light usage.

Performance Hardware

Under the hood, the X60 GT is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. While not the latest flagship processor, it still delivers excellent performance for demanding applications and games. Honor has paired this chip with generous memory configurations, offering variants with 12GB or 16GB of RAM and storage options of 256GB or 512GB. To manage thermal performance, the device incorporates a vapor chamber cooling system with a total cooling area of 5,514 square millimeters.

Battery and Charging

One of the most notable features of the X60 GT is its massive 6,300mAh battery, which uses Honor's Qinghai Lake battery technology. This places it among the largest battery capacities in Honor's smartphone lineup. The device supports 80W fast charging, with Honor claiming a full charge in approximately 45 minutes. According to the company, the phone can reach 47% battery capacity in just 15 minutes of charging. The X60 GT also features bypass charging to prevent overheating during extended gaming sessions while plugged in.

Camera System

The camera setup on the Honor X60 GT is relatively modest compared to its other specifications. It features a dual rear camera system with a 50-megapixel main sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS) and an f/1.9 aperture. This is accompanied by a 2-megapixel depth sensor for portrait effects. For selfies, there's a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with an f/2.45 aperture.

Software and Additional Features

The X60 GT ships with Honor's latest MagicOS 9.0, based on Android 15. This brings several AI-powered features, including advanced photo editing capabilities like image expansion, style transformation, and background object removal. The interface also incorporates a personal assistant, Dynamic Island-style notifications, and AI face adjustments for video calls.

Despite its large battery, the X60 GT maintains a relatively slim profile at 7.7mm thickness and weighs 193 grams. The phone is IP65-rated for dust and water resistance. Connectivity options are comprehensive, including dual SIM 5G standby, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, dual-frequency GPS, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Security is handled by an in-display fingerprint scanner.

Pricing and Availability

The Honor X60 GT is available in three color options: Phantom Night Black, Titanium Shadow Silver, and Titanium Shadow Blue, with the latter two featuring a distinctive grid pattern on the back panel. Pricing in China starts at CNY 1,799 (approximately USD 246) for the 12GB+256GB variant, CNY 1,999 (approximately USD 275) for the 12GB+512GB model, and CNY 2,399 (approximately USD 330) for the top-tier 16GB+512GB version.
