Flagship Performance with Snapdragon 8 Elite

The OnePlus Pad 3 becomes the first tablet outside of China to feature Qualcomm's flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. This powerful processor is supported by an improved cooling system with a heat dissipation area of up to 34,857mm², delivering 14% better thermal management compared to its predecessor. The tablet offers two memory configurations: 12GB LPDDR5x RAM at 4,266MHz paired with 256GB storage, or 16GB LPDDR5T RAM at 4,800MHz with 512GB storage.

Larger Display with Enhanced Visual Experience

The tablet features a significantly larger 13.2-inch IPS LCD display, up from the previous generation's smaller screen. Despite being LCD rather than OLED, the display impresses with its 144Hz refresh rate, 3.4K resolution (2400x3392px), and 12-bit color depth supporting Dolby Vision HDR. Peak brightness reaches 900 nits, ensuring good visibility in various lighting conditions. The display also supports stylus input for enhanced productivity.

Improved Audio and Battery Performance

OnePlus has enhanced the multimedia experience with eight speakers positioned around the tablet, an increase from six in the previous model. The larger form factor accommodates a substantial 12,140mAh battery, significantly larger than the OnePlus Pad 2's 9,510mAh capacity. Fast charging capabilities have also improved, with 80W wired charging that can fully charge the device in approximately 90 minutes, up from the previous 67W charging speed.

Software Integration and AI Features

The OnePlus Pad 3 runs Android 15 with OnePlus AI powered by Google Gemini, offering features like translation, content summarization, and Circle to Search. OnePlus phone owners benefit from Seamless Connectivity features including video and image sync, notification sharing, and clipboard synchronization. Mac users receive additional functionality through O Plus Connect software, enabling wireless file transfers and direct remote control of Mac computers from the tablet.

Accessories and Pricing Strategy

OnePlus offers two key accessories: the Stylo 2 stylus with 16,000 pressure levels and haptic feedback for EUR 99, and the Smart Keyboard with NFC connectivity and trackpad for EUR 169. The tablet itself is priced at EUR 599 for the 12GB model and EUR 699 for the 16GB variant in Europe, with promotional pricing offering the higher-tier model at the lower price point during pre-orders.

Market Availability and Support

The OnePlus Pad 3 is available for pre-order in Europe and North America, with shipping beginning on July 2nd. The company promises three generations of OS updates and six years of security support. Despite being larger and 90g heavier than its predecessor, the tablet maintains an impressively thin 5.97mm profile, making it thinner than the latest iPad Air while offering competitive pricing against premium tablet alternatives.
