ZTE has expanded its Axon 60 smartphone lineup with two new budget-friendly options - the Axon 60 and Axon 60 Lite. These devices join the previously released Axon 60 Ultra, offering more affordable alternatives with some interesting features.
Design and Display
Both new models sport an iPhone-inspired design with a square camera island on the rear. The devices feature flat frames with a distinctive red power button that doubles as a fingerprint scanner.
The Axon 60 boasts a 6.72-inch FHD+ IPS LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate, while the Axon 60 Lite comes with a slightly smaller 6.6-inch HD+ screen, also at 90Hz.
Camera Setup
The camera department sees some differences between the two models:
- Axon 60: 50MP main + 2MP macro + depth sensor, 32MP front camera
- Axon 60 Lite: 50MP main + 2MP depth + AI camera, 8MP front camera
Performance and Storage
Under the hood, the devices are powered by different Unisoc processors:
- Axon 60: Unisoc T616, 6GB RAM
- Axon 60 Lite: Unisoc T606, 4GB RAM
Interestingly, both models come with a generous 256GB of internal storage, which is impressive for their price range.
Battery and Charging
Both smartphones are equipped with a large 5,000 mAh battery and support 22.5W fast charging.
Software and Special Features
The Axon 60 duo runs on Android 13 out of the box. They also feature ZTE's Live Island functionality, which works similarly to Apple's Dynamic Island, displaying notifications and reminders through a center-aligned punch-hole cutout.
Pricing and Availability
The Axon 60 and Axon 60 Lite have been launched in Mexico, with expected availability in other markets soon:
- Axon 60: Priced at approximately $220 USD
- Axon 60 Lite: Priced at approximately $175 USD
Both models are available in various color options including gold, purple, black, and blue.
While these devices may not compete with flagship offerings, they present an interesting value proposition for budget-conscious consumers, offering large batteries, ample storage, and some premium-inspired design elements at accessible price points.
